How Pricey are Inner SE Neighborhoods?

Want to know what a typical home sells for in the Buckman neighborhood? Wondering what your chances are of getting a better deal in Mt. Tabor vs. Richmond, or simply looking for a more affordable inner SE neighborhood to call home? The heat-map below shows the median sales price (over the last six months) for selected inner SE neighborhoods. Bear in mind that this map is based on the median sales price i.e. the price at which 50% of all homes will sell for more and 50% sell for less. If, for some reason, a large number of low-priced homes sold in a particular neighborhood within the last 6 months, the median price might be lower than you may have expected. Note that homes in an affordable area, that border on a higher-priced area, will obviously come with a higher price tag than the median price for that neighborhood e.g. the western section of Center.

Roughly 1/3 of all homes in areas with a median home price of $365k will typically sell for $400k or more. This ratio drops to about 5%-8% in areas such as Brooklyn or Creston-Kenilworth. Laurelhurst obviously takes the cake in this respect with 40% of the homes going for more than $500k.
