Tax Abatement Likely To Continue For Select Pearl Condos

According to the NW Examiner the state Legislature passed a bill authorizing second terms for residential properties enrolled in the Historic Special Assessment Program. The state’s historic-preservation tax-abatement program freezes property assessments at pre-restoration levels allowing qualifying homeowners to save thousands on property tax payments.
The bill would extend the special assessment program to July 1, 2025 . This would be of particular benefit to tax payers at the Confectionery Lofts and Irving Street Lofts, where the tax abatement has already expired. The legislation would likely also extend the current program at the Marshall Wells as well as the Avenue which is set to expire in 2015.
